HISTORY OF CVILLE SABROSO
In 2003, Fanny Smedile, a dedicated volunteer at the Church of Incarnation, took the initiative to organize the very first Latin American festival. Starting as a modest gathering, the event was a celebration of Latin American culture. Fast forward to 2012, the year Sin Barreras was founded, and Fanny, in collaboration with Estela from the Lua Project, launched the first Latin American Cultural Festival. This marked the beginning of a tradition that has since become a significant part of the community.
The first two Cville Sabrosos in 2012 and 2013 were hosted at the McGuffey Art Center. As the festival grew in popularity, it found its home at the IX Art Park before finally settling at Washington Park. This growth is a testament to the increasing interest and enthusiasm of the community, making each year's festival more exciting and vibrant than the last.
